Summer 2015 Events in Fowey

It probably won’t come as a huge surprise to learn that the most exciting, enchanting and generally enjoyable events in Fowey tend to revolve around the sea and you don’t really have to look hard to find something quite amazing to do with your time while on your holidays in a beautiful cottage. Once again, the spring was packed with amazing events across Fowey and there’s still more to come for the rest of the summer. So if you’re likely to be in one of our cottages in the area while the fine weather is with us, you’d be well-advised to check out at least one of the following:

2015 Fowey Royal Regatta – August 16 to 22

Here’s the week of the year during which Fowey transforms from a tiny and quiet little harbour town into an explosively busy and exciting corner of Cornwall. Once again, thousands will descend on Fowey this summer for what’s arguably the UK’s most elite and enjoyable sailing event, so why not head along and take in the sights for yourself?

Ex-Lifeboats Rally – July 4 and 5

Organised by the Fowey Lifeboat Committee, this fantastic event gives the public a unique chance to get up-close and personal with the ships and vessels that have saved countless lives during their time in service. Suffice to say, it’s always a winner with the kids and also happens to be free of charge – always a bonus!

Fowey Classics Boat Rally – July 28 to 31

Another amazing maritime event which is also one of the friendliest and most fun you’ll ever encounter, the Fowey Classics Boat Rally sees a huge fleet of boats from the past hundred years or so taking part in a thrilling race.

Fowey Harbour Swim – August 30

Last up, if you fancy getting well and truly stuck in for the sake of a good cause, you might want to consider taking part in the annual Fowey Harbour Swim. Set to take place on August 30 this year, the route has been confirmed as from the Town Quay to Readymoney and back – all proceeds and sponsorship going the way of the Fowey Lifeboat.
