Penquite was built in 2009 on the spectacular site of the former Penquite Vineyard. The property is now an exceptional, eco-friendly house set within secluded south-easterly facing gardens and grounds of approximately 4 acres. Privately positioned on the boundary of Golant, upstream of the village it is within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, adjacent to Penquite Wood. Penquite enjoys panoramic views of the Fowey River from its spectacular elevated position. These views stretch all the way from Cliff, on the immediately opposite bank of the river downstream to beyond Golant village itself.

The property is of a highly energy efficient timber framed construction with an abundance of beautiful oak joinery and vast exposed oak timber beams and columns. To the rear of the plot there is a, twin axis photovoltaic panel, designed to maximise solar power.

The accommodation comprises an entrance hall which in turn leads to the spacious living/dining room with comfortable corner settee arrangement and armchair, large dining table and chairs extending into the sun room with expansive views, TV with Freeview, DVD player, Bowes music system and iPod doc. There is a wealth of oak beams, natural wood flooring and a woodburner. The open plan kitchen is on this level with handmade oak units, electric double oven and ceramic hob, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine.

Upstairs there are three bedrooms, all with lovely views. The Master Bedroom has a king sized bed, dressing room and ensuite bathroom with separate shower, another with twin beds and the other with a king size bed. There is also another bathroom with shower over the bath.

Outside, the sunroom with folding doors offers panoramic views as does the terrace and covered veranda. Please note there is infinity decking here and therefore no security railings – great care should be taken whilst enjoying this outside space and this property is unsuitable for small children. There is an array of patio furniture for the guest to relax and get-away-from-it-all. Golant is only a third of a mile away, but it should be pointed out that it is a steep uphill walk back from the village! Car access is along very narrow, and at times quite steep, country lanes but is fine for most average cars.

If you are looking for a completely private, get away from it all, location, Penquite is definitely the property for you. The village of Golant has a local pub and a small hotel offering a variety of dining options, all with stunning estuary views. Kayak trips and self-hire are also available.

One well behaved dog is accepted by prior arrangement only and at a cost of £30pw. Please see Clause 6 of the Booking Conditions
