The Gables is a beautifully renovated detached house with bags of style and history. This lovely holiday home is comfortable and flexible and suits a wide range of requirements, sleeping 6 to 8 people. From the stunning reinstated veranda, the views down through the pretty village of Tywardreath (also known as 'The House on The Strand'), are delightful. This charming village close to Fowey, has a local store, award winning butcher and excellent village pub. It is only a 20 minute walk to the lovely sandy beach, Par Sands which is one of the only all year round dog friendly beaches. There are pretty, mature gardens with a variety of shrubs and trees as well as a Barn with a full size table tennis table. Two well behaved dogs are welcome.

The property was completely refurbished last year and offers bright, spacious, comfortable accommodation with many charming touches of ‘times gone by’. The Gables is an ideal choice for families (small or large), friends sharing or just a couple looking for a quiet, relaxing holiday with plenty of space.

The house is accessed through a pretty terraced garden leading up to the beautifully renovated Victorian veranda to the front of the property, a perfect place to sit with your morning tea and watch the comings and goings of the village or relax and enjoy the afternoon sunshine whilst knowing Daphne Du Maurier enjoyed this very spot too!

The front door opens into a spacious hallway with original Victorian tiled floor. The sitting room, to the front of the house, is a good size room, furnished with 2 two seater sofas and a further 3 seater sofa, electric wood burner effect fire and flat screen TV. The dining room is on the opposite side of the hall and has a large dining table, seating for up to 8 people, French doors out onto the veranda and also has the benefit of a large real wood burner. A door way leads through to the well equipped kitchen which has a large 5 burner cooker, 2 ovens and grill, microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer and a good selection of crockery, cutlery and cookware. Across the hall is a second sitting room which has a large daybed which can be used as either one or two singles for which there is a charge of £50pw. This room has views over the garden, real woodburner and flat screen TV. There is an ensuite shower room with shower, WC and wash basin. The washer/dryer is situated in this room.

Upstairs is the family bathroom with roll top bath, WC and washbasin. There is also, a separate WC with washbasin. Up a further few steps is Bedroom 1 with double bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers, bedside tables and lovely views over the garden. Bedroom 2 has twin beds, wardrobe, chest of drawers, bedside tables and village and country views to the front. Across the hall is the Master Bedroom with king size bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers and bedside tables. Also with views to the front, this room has the added benefit of an ensuite shower room with WC and washbasin.

The pretty rear garden is secluded and features many mature shrubs and flowers. A little pathway at the back leads to a ‘secret' spot for quiet reflection and relaxation as well as a barn which houses a full size table tennis table for guests use. A shared gravel drive provides level access to the back door of the property. There is ample parking for two cars.

The beach at Par Sands is dog-friendly all year round, and is only a 15 -20 min walk from the house.
