Built in 1880, this delightful detached cottage occupies an outstanding and very private location on the edge of this very peaceful, tucked away waterside village.  With a wonderful get-away from-it-all feeling, Springhill provides a perfect retreat for those who are trying to escape the pressures of modern life.  The house enjoys magnificent views over Fowey's beautiful natural harbour and is within a couple in minutes' walk of the village centre and the quay where a regular passenger ferry crosses the harour to Fowey  The cottage is presented to a high standard and has been furnished and decorated with great flair and style.

Polruan has an excellent general stores, two public houses and a tea room.  Tucked just inside the entrance to Fowey Harbour, on the east bank, the village is very definitely off the main tourist route and, as such, remains remarkably quiet even in the height of the summer season.

The accomodation is arranged over two floors.  The ground floor includes a delightful, classically furnished, sitting room with TV and an open fireplace, for which fuel is supplied and a large bay window from which there are outstanding views over Fowey Harbour.  From the sitting room an archway leads to the separate dining room which again has a bay window with the same superb views.

The traditional kitchen has is well equipped and includes an electric cooker, fridge, microwave and has a good selection of crockery cutlery and cookware as well as having river views!  The utility room houses the washing machine and tumble dryer and finally on the ground floor is a cloakroom with hand basin and WC.

From the first floor landing a door leads to the bedrooms, all 3 of which have superb harbour views and the bathroom.  The Master bedroom gives lovely views of the harbour, has been beautifully furnished and includes an antique double bed, matching furniture, elegant bed linen and also has the benefit of a washhand basin.  Bedroom 2 also has river views, a double bed, stylish bed linen and has been tastefully furnished in a more contemporary style to include chest of drawers and built in wardrobe.  Bedroom 3 is presented in a more traditional style with twin beds, chest of drawers, wardrobe, wash hand basin and, of course, the super river views.  The Art Deco style bathroom is well equipped with wash hand basin, WC and bath with hand shower attachment. 

There is a delightful private garden on three sides of the property, with patio furniture provided and has wonderful panoramic views of the harbour.

One dog is permitted at this property by prior arrangement only and at a cost of £30 per week. Guests must bring their pets bedding and food bowls. Dogs must not be left in the property unattended and are not allowed on the furniture or in the bedrooms. Please see Clause 6 of the Booking Conditions.

Due to the position of Spring Hill and the amount of steps that lead down to the property, this house may not be suitable for the elderly or families with very young children.  Please call us for further information.
