Carpenters Cottage has been awarded 4 Stars with a Gold Award by the English Tourist Board

Carpenters Cottage is a most delightful converted carpenters workshop, tucked away in peaceful surroundings in the little hamlet of Castle, only 4 miles from Fowey and in the opposite direction only 1.5miles to Lostwithiel, once the Capital of Cornwall. The cottage sits in the two acre garden of The Old Coach House and has been totally refurbished to a very high standard, with much thought going into the finer details of furnishings, fixtures and fittings. Guests will be enchanted not only by the space and tranquillity of the surroundings, but also the welcome hamper and complimentary fresh free-range eggs from the owner's hens and ducks.

Large wooden gates open onto a gravelled drive which leads passed the pretty duck pond, dovecote and meadow which the owner hopes guests will feel free to explore and enjoy this pretty setting during their stay. The cottage has its own private drive with ample room for at least two cars. From the front, glass doors lead into the entrance hall and through into the open plan spacious kitchen. This has been well designed and includes a built in dishwasher, electric ceramic hob and oven, stylish ‘Belfast' sink and an excellent selection of crockery, cutlery, cooking utensils and glassware. There is a smart dining table with seating for 4, two 2 seater sofa's, flat screen wall mounted TV with free sat and DVD player and for cooler evenings and cosy winter afternoons there is a real log burner for which logs are provided. French doors lead out from the sitting room onto the large sunny paved patio which catches the sun most of the day and has a lovely view across the pretty meadow that runs down to the small river that runs off the Fowey Estuary.

Off the hall is the very stylish bathroom which has been beautifully decorated and furnished and includes a large walk in shower, wash hand basin, Victorian roll top bath and WC. Also off the hall is the large, walk-in airing cupboard which houses the washer / dryer.

At the end of the hall is the bedroom which has a 6ft double bed which can be converted into twin beds if preferred. The bedroom has been tastefully decorated and has matching bedroom furniture and Egyptian cotton bedding and there is the added advantage of French doors leading out onto the patio.

Carpenters Cottage is centrally heated throughout and is an enchanting holiday retreat, ideal for a romantic holiday, honeymoon or just a fabulous base to spend a perfect holiday in the lovely Fowey area.

One small dog may be permitted at this property, at the owners discretion at a cost of £30 per week.  Guests must bring their pets bedding and food bowls.  Dogs must not be left in the property unattended and are not alllowed on the furniture or in the bedroom. Please see Clause 6 of the Booking Conditions.

We are sorry but due to some inconsiderate pet owners, dogs are no longer permitted at Carpenters Cottage without a £50 security deposit which must be left with the owner on arrival and will be refunded after departure, less any deductions made for damage or extra cleaning required.
