This quaint cottage has an interesting history, being originally the Police Station until 1902 and then for another 20 years the Police House. The slate hung, double fronted cottage has just been refurbished keeping the traditional style of the original cottage with its sloping floors and low ceilings, whilst implementing modern facilities. It also has the benefit of a delightful garden to the rear of the property.
This charming cottage is an ideal choice for those who wish to be close to the town and beach whilst staying in a truly traditional 'Cornish Cottage'.
The front door leads into the hallway and through to the main sitting room which is furnished with a comfortable sofa and chairs, dining table and matching chairs, coffee table, flat screen TV and DVD player. There is a selection of books, games and DVDs for guests to enjoy. On the other side of the hall is the second sitting room which has also been comfortably furnished with a two seater sofa, two wing fireside chairs and has the added benefit of an open fire and glimpses of the harbour. To the rear of the cottage is the kitchen with fitted units, small welsh dresser, dining table with seating for four people, electric hob, electric oven, microwave and fridge with freezer compartment. It has been very well equipped and includes good quality crockery, cutlery, glassware and kitchen utensils. The back door leads into a small utility area with washing machine, WC and washbasin. Stone steps lead up to a delightful, landscaped garden with two terraces, brick built barbecue and garden furniture. A charming place to sit with your morning tea or for alfresco dining on a warm summer evening.
Stairs lead up to the bedrooms and the bathroom. Bedroom 1 has a double bed, built in wardrobe, dressing table, bedside lamp and has glimpses of the harbour. Bedroom 2 has twin beds, ample storage in the large built in wardrobe, chest of drawers and two bedside tables with bedside lamps. Bedroom 3 has bunk beds and is ideal for children. Also on this floor is the family bathroom with bath, power shower over, WC and washbasin.
Cornish Cottage is carpeted throughout and in addition to the open fire, is also centrally heated. Due to the steep steps to the garden, this property may not be suitable for very young children, the elderly or disabled. Children must be supervised in the garden at all times. There is a telephone for UK landline calls only (no premium or mobile calls accepted) and WiFi.
