In contrast to the gentle wooded scenery of the Fowey Estuary, the dramatic and expansive scenery of Bodmin Moor makes an ideal base for those wanting to enjoy walking and cycling holidays. Though Bodmin Moor covers a comparatively small area, the open, gently curving nature of the land, punctuated by rocky tors, creates a surprising sense of scale, remoteness and even desolation. The wealth of archaeological remains and the relatively few signs of the twenty first century create an illusion of timelessness.
The moorland village of St Breward boasts the highest church in Cornwall at about 700ft and next to the church is St Breward's pub; The Old Inn, built in the 11th century. Close to the village are some of Cornwall's best known landmarks: - Roughtor, and Brown Willy and the Camel Cycle Trail. This thriving community supports a post office, friendly shop (which also incorporates a visitor information centre), internet café, doctor's surgery and a silver band. The North coast is easily accessible from here as is the famous Jamaica Inn from the book by Daphne DuMaurier.

Horseshoe Cottage has just been completely refurbished, with new kitchen and bathroom and is an ideal choice for those wishing to walk the moors or just enjoy a real 'Cornish' experience in a delightful Cornish village.  The property is approached through the pretty courtyard garden and the front door leads into the main living area with open beamed ceiling, wood floor and multi-fuel burner (supplying hot water and two radiators) set in a large granite fireplace. There is also a comfortable bed settee and folding dining table and chairs. The compact kitchen area has electric cooker with double oven and ceramic hob, washing machine and range of fitted cream units and is well equipped with crockery, cutlery, utensils and cookware. A half glazed back door opens onto the newly decked area and rear garden which provides lovely views down the valley with the Camel Estuary in the distance.
Upstairs there is a large double bedroom with king sized bed, fitted wardrobe and antique chest of drawers and fold-out computer desk. The bathroom is on this level with bath, WC and wash basin with a power shower over the bath.

One well behaved dog is most welcome at a cost of £30pw by prior arrangement only.  Dogs are not allowed on the furniture and must not be left in the property unattended.  Guests must bring the pets own bedding and food bowls.

There is no designated parking with this property but there is unrestricted parking on the lane directly outside.
